Dick Blick is one of the nations largest and oldest art supplies retailer. They also provide a lovely art lessons section on their website. They offer HUNDREDS of lesson plans, so you will not run out of ideas! To help, you can narrow lessons down by grades, by art disciplines, or even whether or not a lesson includes a video! They have it all broken down for you, even which supplies are needed!! What a win-win!

This 3-D balloon craft can be found HERE.

My goodness..I love to find these sites! The crafting and art activities on this site are stinkin' cute!! I would say the crafts here will be ideal for the preschool through 2nd/3rd grade child. This site is layed out to be very easy to navigate, as crafts are broken down into groups; animals, insects, ocean, etc.
I also love how a good amount of crafts have the printable template available, allowing for more time efficiency. Make sure to drop by, this site will not disappoint! |
I don't think you will see this site on too many blogs/websites. Inspiration does not have to found in one place. This site is from a middle school art teacher in Northern Italy. I love how we can find similarities of work, and the beauty of the art differences from other parts of the world!
The art is geared towards the older students...I would even say this could be stretched through high school. I love the vibrancy, the color, the life of the art/craft projects. Definitely a site worth placing into your bookmark. |
Really cute, and well planned out site. There's an option to pay for ebooks for convenience, but also a BUNCH of freebies! The age range on this site is from K-5th grade.
Site is super easy to navigate. |
Third Grade Art Lesson 7 Tissue Paper Collage, Part 3 Completing Our Collage
|
This, by far, is one of the best sites for art curriculum/projects. It is broken down by grades from Kinder-5th. The projects are weekly, and each entry gives you ALL the information needed to successfully do this with your child/children.
This site also has the objectives / materials list / art terms and definitions broken down by grade...which could easily be printed out along with projects. I am done talking about this....go see for yourself how great this site truly is!! |
As one of the older sites around(1997), you will find extensive and well rounded free art lessons from Pre-K to 8th Grade. I really love how this site has everything broken down by grade, age, techniques, or even by medium!
This site also offers paid memberships, printable plan packs and craft kits if you want more guidance with lessons. |
This site is like.... the IKEA of arts and crafts kids sites. Super cool, minimalist feel, decorative in many ways, and colorful. I can use this site from my youngest child to my high schooler with no problem!
Super easy to navigate, and again, not overwhelming, clear to understand, and projects do not involve an extensive amount of tools, or items, as most things here are......printable of course :) Definitely check them out. |
babbledabbledo.com
A wonderful and whimsical like site full of color and creativity! This site focuses on creative learning within the arts, sciences, and engineering areas. Page after page of beautiful photos, and activities for the kiddos...great fun for parents too! Definitely drop by this site. |
CRAYOLA.COM
We all at some point encountered Crayola Crayons in our life. Now, they have definitely expanded beyond crayons, and have a wonderful site full of art supplies and craft kits for purchase.I especially love the extensive array of free printables and lesson plans available on the site. They have really done a great job making the site easy to navigate. Take your time here, and enjoy. |
DEEPSPACESPARKLE.COM
Many of us homeschoolers know this site. A very well thought out site with free and paid option. This site separates curriculum by grade, subject, and technique. There is often a waitlist for the Sparklers Club and some of the workshops this site offers, but they also have other options for purchase. The artwork is so vibrant and colorful here, you can't help but try out some of the projects. Enjoy. |
METMUSEUM.ORG
I am a lover of all things art. The Met Museum in N.Y.C has an impressive collection of art from around the world. They offer a wonderful online experience of some of their more popular collections. They also have lesson plans, virtual classes for a fee, and coloring pages of various copies of art pieces. One of the coolest parts of this site is an interactive art map online. You gotta visit to get the full appreciation of its cool factor. *Just a note. As with all things, PARENTS should always check first before allowing free access to explore websites/internet. This museum site is no different. Although it is art, and educational, There may be images/sculptures that may not be for younger eyes. |
THEARTFULPARENT.COM
The Artful Parent is a great site that is to the point, and very easy to navigate. This site gives some ways to create art that I had never considered. Lots of options here and great for multiple age groups. This site also offers a paid membership that offers video tutorials for various art projects. |
