I want to first say....homeschool is a decision that is life changing. It is a decision that a family should really have the FREEDOM to decide.
So many of you have been forced into the situation, you really had no interest in, or even had a reason to consider, and this alone, may pose a challenge in this school at home journey. Homeschooling is a lifestyle change, not only an educational one.
I really want you to understand...homeschool is NOT hands-free, it's not guidance free. It is not free from a parental role to be a lead...but at the same time..being the "leader"...is not just making demands upon others, that includes our children.
Leading involves learning the strengths of others so they may immerse, feed, and rise in those gifts they hold. And, sadly, school simply does not have the time to allow these individual gifts to take root. And for many of us parents, we really have not been put in a position to trust our children could actually learn outside a school protocol. Guess what? They can, and they do!
“The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown.” ~ Howard Phillips Lovecraft
This is where homeschooling comes in.
With that said, let's get started...on this road. There may be bumps, detours, flat tires, and some extra, unexpected stop-overs, and fear. But remember...even with all the obstacles...beauty, appreciation, self discovery, and a new found love of learning can be found on the journey into the unknown....
